UMUC: CSMN 661 I took an class on Relational Database Systems which taught me a lot. It was a pretty interesting classes. Unlike most high school and undergrad stuff, some of these things actually came in handy at work. For the final project I had to design a database (including the SQL statements) to serve some purpose. I was working on some configuration control stuff at work so I thought it would be an interesting topic. I didn't end up using any of the database stuff at work, but I still learned a lot working on it. Configuration Control Database and the accompanying paper. MSIT 640 This was a really cool class. I thought I understood how networks actually worked until I took this class. I learned so much stuff here; it was a very difficult class though, the textbook was not very good. For this individual project I chose to study VOIP; remember to read it with a grain of salt, it is more than 2 years old now. MSIT 610 This was the first graduate level class I had ever taken; basically it was an introduction into Information Technology. For this class I took a look at Ultra-Wideband wireless. This was also before I had any actual experience with wireless technology. Right now my home network is running 80211.b but that is bound to evolve over time. Much like the paper on VOIP, take this paper with a grain of salt as it was written more than 2 years ago, and technology papers do not age well. |
